Economic Development

If you grew up in Hancock County in the mid 1980’s you saw the boom that put our community on the map. I was fortunate to have a front row seat because my dad, John Kovach, was recruited to lead economic development efforts through the set-up of CDF in the mid 80’s.
If you were a commissioner, mayor, council member, township trustee or part of the schools it was an exciting time, and everyone had a seat at the table when it came to making decisions. A bean field on Bright Rd turned into Findlay Tall Timbers, that created thousands of jobs over the years.
Over the years I learned a lot from my dad. It was never an “I” accomplishment, it was always a “Team” accomplishment. I learned that you have to think outside the box to make good things happen and it is vitally important that everyone communicates and works together to promote Hancock County.
My dad’s business approach for Findlay/Hancock County was instilled in me over the years and I have taken the same approach…communication and teamwork.
As Commissioner I will be engaged, work with other elected officials and the community to make sure we are meeting the needs of Hancock County (public safety, infrastructure, healthcare, schools and our current businesses) to strengthen our conservative values and promote growth that brings high paying jobs and preserves agriculture land.
